What We Thought of This $90 Portable Power Bank

This $90 Portable Power Bank Was Tried — Here’s What We Thought

A portable power bank can be useful in a variety of ways while traveling, whether you are taking a family road trip or boondocking off the grid. Some excellent applications include:

Keeping your phone charged while traveling.

If you work full-time, you can charge your laptop while dry camping.

  • If your children are entertained by tablets, portable power banks will keep those devices charged as well.
  • They can also be useful if your home’s power goes out and you need to charge your devices.
  • We recently discovered an innovative new portable power bank with a massive 20,000 mAh battery capacity: the Eggtronic Laptop Power Bank. So we decided to put it to the test and see how well this portable power bank kept our devices charged while we were on the go.

The Eggtronic Laptop Charger

As previously stated, this portable power bank has a 20,000 mAh capacity and a total output power of 63W. This equates to 4-8 charges for your smartphone, 3-5 charges for your tablet, or 1.5 charges for your laptop.

It has a slim, lightweight design that is small enough to fit in a pocket or backpack. The portable power bank was designed in Italy by Eggtronic with a focus on simplicity, durability, and ease of use in mind. It’s made of a soft water-repellent canvas and has three USB ports for charging multiple devices at once.

Charger ports

All USB and USB-C devices are compatible with the power bank. It comes with three charging ports:

  • USB-C input/output for charging the battery bank or laptops such as the Macbook, Dell, Lenovo, HP, and other USB-C laptops.
  • A standard USB-A output port for charging your phone or tablet.
  • And a USB Quick Charge port for charging a second device quickly.

Display of battery power

On the front of the portable power bank, there is a simple, easy-to-read LCD display. When plugged into the wall or a charging device, a number from 0-100 is displayed to indicate how much power is left (100 being fully charged). In comparison to other devices that show how many bars are left, this makes it easier to tell how much power is left.

Our portable power bank evaluation

When I received the power bank, it was already charged to 68 percent. However, after plugging it in with the included USB-C to USB-A adapter, it only took about an hour or two to reach 100.

The power bank also includes a 3-foot USB-C to USB-cable for charging. To maximize battery recharge speed, you can also purchase a high-speed 30W or Sirius 65W AC Adapter. According to Eggtronic, a 15W adapter takes approximately 6 hours to fully recharge the battery bank, while a 29W/30W power adapter takes only 3-3.5 hours.

I simply used the universal USB charging cables that I already own and plug into the wall charger to charge my phone and tablet. Both of my devices plugged into two of the three USB ports without a hitch. My phone was fully charged in less than an hour, and the battery had only dropped to 98%. My tablet was fully charged a few hours later, and the bank was still at 90%.

The battery bank’s lifespan is ultimately determined by how frequently you use your devices and how long their batteries last. With just one phone recharge per day, this power bank could easily last a week or more on a single charge. If you frequently use your phone and laptop and need to charge them several times per day, the battery bank may need to be recharged every few days.

My Android phone’s battery does not last long and must be recharged several times during the day. My tablet is used for a variety of activities on a daily basis and needs to be recharged every few days. The portable power bank easily met all of my devices’ power requirements for a few days before requiring recharging with the wall adapter.

In addition to power banks, Eggtronic manufactures a variety of portable power accessories such as power adapters and wireless chargers such as natural stone wireless charging stones and a Power Bar that charges up to four devices at the same time. The company’s headquarters are in Italy, but it also has offices in San Francisco, Minneapolis, and Shenzhen, China.

On the manufacturer’s website, the Laptop Power Bank is currently priced at $89.90. They’re also available on Amazon and at big-box stores like Walmart and Office Depot.
